Ever wonder how the Vine Trail continues to look pristine? Meet the man behind the motors, Matt Dunnachie. Originally hailing from Sydney, Australia, Matt made his way to the US in 2000 and eventually settled in Napa. After over a decade of working in the wine industry, he took a bold step and applied for a job with the City of Napa Parks and Rec Dept in 2018, which marked a change in career paths for him.
By 2021, Matt had an opportunity to service the Vine Trail, and he jumped at the chance. Matt maintains the Napa to Yountville section, he has been doing an amazing job keeping the trail in great shape. You'll often see him out there on or with his various pieces of equipment, maintaining the landscape and facilities, and meeting and greeting the trail users.
Matt's friendly demeanor and dedication to his work have not gone unnoticed by the community. As one frequent trail user puts it, "He's a nice guy & does an amazing job." Despite his busy schedule, Matt is always happy to stop and say hi to those he encounters on the trail. With his passion for his work and his commitment to maintaining the beauty of the Napa Valley, Matt is a valuable asset to the Napa Valley Vine Trail and the community.
