Vintner Barry Waitte founded Tamber Bey Vineyards in 1999 when he purchased a 60-acre vineyard in the Yountville Appellation and an 11-acre property in the renowned Oakville Appellation. Waitte planted three acres of premium Cabernet Sauvignon on the Oakville property, and this vineyard came to be called the Oakville Estate Vineyard. It is from this vineyard that Tamber Bey's Vine Trail Cabernet Sauvignon will be produced.

The Tamber Bey winery, opened in 2013, is located on the 22-acre Sundance Ranch in Calistoga. Tamber Bey's portfolio of wines are made under the leadership of winemaker Derek Flegal. Thomas Brown is consulting winemaker. The wines are made from Waitte's estate-grown fruit from Napa Valley's Yountville and Oakville AVAs, and from grapes carefully sourced from select vineyards in Napa, Sonoma and Lake counties

The 2019 Tamber Bey Cabernet Sauvignon is from our Oakville Estate Vineyard. Characteristic of this site, it leads with bursting aromatics of crushed blackberry, gravel, lavender, licorice, and mint. The palate is dense and pliant, dominated by a dark core of blackberry and black cherry jam. Mocha, graphite, clove, and espresso add layers of depth and complexity, and are nicely balanced by the wine's natural freshness and energy.
