Some great news for our supporters: After five years of hard work, planning, negotiating and securing easements, the VINE TRAIL between St Helena and Calistoga took a giant step forward with the release of the Environmental Document. The Napa Valley Transportation Authority, the lead agency and primary public agency partner (along with the County of Napa, City of Calistoga, and City of St Helena), approved the release the Environmental Document at its meeting on June 17. The document was released to the public on June 26 after the “green light” from the State Historical Preservation office.
Officially called the “Notice of Intent to Adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) for the Napa Valley Vine Trail Project – St Helena to Calistoga”, the Environmental Document can be reviewed at: http://www.nvta.ca.gov/vinetrail. The public review period started on June 26, 2020 and will end on July 27, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. Please submit by 5:00 p.m. on July 27, 2020 any written comments that you may have on the draft Mitigated Negative Declaration to Rebecca Schenck at email@example.com or mail comments to the following address:

The NVTA Board will take up the review of public comments and the certification of the MND at a Special Meeting on August 19, 2020. This will keep the project on track for construction in 2021.
Thanks to our consultants RSA+, Kimley Horn and staff at NVTA, Rebecca Schenk and Sanjay Mishra, along with all our Engineering/Route committee members for all their work over the past five years.
