Carlos Rones is the new Development Manager with the Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition focusing on planning, management, and implementation of fundraising strategies in collaboration with external partners.
About Carlos: Carlos fully immersed himself in the food and beverage industry in 2015. He attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York to pursue a career in the culinary field as a chef then later transitioned to focus his work and studies in the hospitality industry and wine business. In mid-2018, he caught the “wine bug” with a bottle of 1978 Marquis d’Angerville “Clos des Ducs” Volnay and it was like no wine he had ever tasted. This happened at the first stop of his wine career at Verve Wine (San Francisco), where he honed his skills and knowledge with the wine business. During his free time, Carlos partnered with a local chef in the Bay Area and hosted pop-ups that featured Filipino cuisine, he focused on hospitality and experimented with the beverage program to showcase the versatility of food and wine pairing with Filipino dishes. Later, he worked with Southern Glazer Wine and Spirits and expanded his skillset dealing with large chain stores and wine retail businesses within the Bay Area. Carlos’ love for wine led him to his last stop, before joining the team here at Napa Valley Vine Trail, at Benchmark Wine Group where he focused on fine and rare wine acquisitions for the company.
His passion for bringing everyone together and connecting with the community will be a great addition to the Napa Valley Vine Trail.
