HOW TO DOUBLE YOUR DONATION

08/30/2021

Does Your Company Has a Matching Gift Program?

You’ve all read about the success of our Month of Movement Challenge with teams and individuals exercising all throughout the month of May to raise funds in support of the VINE TRAIL. (Check out the winners for each category posted on our website here.) What we didn’t expect is for the giving to continue into the summer!

In June, we announced Silicon Valley Bank as achieving first place for the most money raised by a team at $27,476. Through their matching gift program, team Silicon Valley Bank employees have contributed an additional $3,227 with the company contributing an additional $3,531 in matching funds, bringing their total Month of Movement Challenge team total funds raised to date to an incredible $34,234!!

What are matching gifts?

Corporate matching gifts are a type of philanthropy in which companies financially match donations that their employees make to nonprofit organizations. When an employee makes a donation, they’ll request the matching gift from their employer, who then makes their own donation. Companies usually match donations at a 1:1 ratio, but some will match at a 2:1, 3:1, or even a 4:1 ratio.

Does your company make matching gifts? Below are some of the companies that have corporate giving programs, volunteer programs, charitable foundations, or matching programs. If we’ve left someone off, please let us know!
